- Matching Gifts Program: Employer matches (dollar for dollar or percentage), the contributions their employees make to Carpenter’s Shelter
- Volunteer Grants: Grant money given to Carpenter’s for designated number of volunteer hours performed by employees
- Carpenter’s Shelter Special Event Sponsorship
- Carpenter’s Cook-off – April 26, 2009
- Urban Country…on the Runway – September 26, 2009
- Carpenter’s Corporate Costume Event
- Sponsor summer camps
- Dress Down/Denim Day: Employees pay or bring a needed item for donation, then dress down for the day
In-Kind Donations
- Employee Drives:
- Toiletry Welcome Kits (e.g., travel-sized toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.)
- Non-perishable Food (e.g., breakfast cereal, kids snacks, coffee, drink mix)
- Towels & Linens
- Gift Certificates (e.g., Target, Old Navy, Walmart)
Individual Charitable Giving
- Workplace Giving Campaign: cash contributions are made in the form of pledges via automatic payroll deduction or one-time contributions
- Angel Fund: Cash contributions to a special fund helping with emergency needs (e.g., baby crib, kids camp)
Volunteer Opportunities
- Tutor a child
- Be a Job or Life Skills Mentor
- Lead a children’s weekend field trip
- Participate in a “Day of Caring” – half-day of a special shelter clean-up project (e.g., pantry or linen closet organization, yard work)
- Prepare and serve a meal for shelter residents
- Lend your professional expertise or interest to our Development Committee (e.g, marketing/PR, special events, budgeting, project management, etc.)
- Help our IT Committee with hardware/software, update and maintain shelter website
