Young Philanthropists Open House

Tuesday - December. 02, 2014

Carpenter’s Shelter is introducing our newest giving circle, Young Philanthropists. Young Philanthropists offers a unique opportunity to become involved in some of Carpenter’s Shelter volunteer and networking opportunities such as service days, happy hours, and a way to connect with like minded individuals.

The goal of Young Philanthropists is to harness the energy, enthusiasm, and creativity of young professionals to draw attention to and put an end to homelessness in the Alexandria area. There are countless opportunities available for each member to not only get involved with our established programs and yearly fundraising events, but to also connect with community members and make an impact in the lives of those working towards breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Prospective members ages 18 to 35 are encouraged to give an annual donation of $250, which can be broken up into monthly payments. This annual donation not only opens up new philanthropic doors for you, but also contributes to the success of Carpenter’s mission.

Young Philanthropists is still growing! Join us on December 2nd when we will be hosting an open house for all potential members. The open house will include a tour of Carpenter’s and hearing first hand from our clients about how our services have impacted them.

If you’re thinking about signing up, your first call to action is to bring your friends to the open house!

Community Open House

Monday - December. 15, 2014

On Monday, December 15th at 7:00pm, Carpenter’s Shelter will be hosting an open house event for the community. This is a great opportunity for community members and new volunteers to tour the shelter and get more information about our services.

Carpenter’s staff will take visitors on a guided tour of our facility including the kitchen, residential space, and David’s Place. Attendees will get to meet some of our clients and hear first-hand about their struggles with homelessness and how Carpenter’s Shelter is helping them on their road to independence.

Refreshments will be provided. Children are welcome at this event. For more information, please contact Meghan Hendy.
