We believe that the root causes of homelessness are complex and years of support are needed to end it. Our award-winning Aftercare program provides a “safety net” for shelter graduates and aims to prevent the return to homelessness through case management outreach. Our largest program, Aftercare continues the coordination of services for more than 200 shelter graduates. More than 90% of all Aftercare participants are independent but we need continued community help to prevent their return to homelessness.
Aftercare was established to help reinforce the life skills clients need to remain independent in the community. Some of the life skills classes taught include our ABC’s classes, our Kids’ Street Sense Classes and our Mom’s Night Out gatherings. Through this program, Carpenter’s is helping strengthen families and communities.
“First you house me and my son for 50 days. Now you open your pantry doors so we have food in our apartment. God is so good to us. Thank you Carpenter’s!”
— Mr. S, an Aftercare client
