Carpenter's Shelter, dedicated to ending homelessness in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. region through services, education and advocacy

David’s Place Day Shelter

David’s Place offers an alternative for chronically homeless adults, and it is open seven days a week. It is a clean, safe place where more than 250 unsheltered homeless people attend to their basic needs each year. We offer showers, laundry and locker facilities, phone and voice mail services, and a mailing address. At David’s Place, case management and outreach services, such as substance abuse and mental health treatment, assistance with job searches and education opportunities routinely take place. Last year 65 clients transitioned off the streets into safe housing options.

“I’m grateful for all the help that I received from David’s Place and the staff…hopefully I can stay on this path.”
— Mr. S, a formerly homeless member of David’s Place
